Québec-based producer William Jourdain’s Automatisme offered up some highlight performances in Montréal last year, following the release of Momentform Accumulations, his first album on Constellation.
Constellation and MUTEK present a live clip from Automatisme’s set at the festival’s 2017 Montréal edition last August, as premiered earlier today by Resident Advisor.
At the 2017 edition of MUTEK in Montréal, Automatisme filled the multi-screen venue with visuals by Myriam Boucher for a set that paid homage to mid-90s influences like Alva Noto, Pan Sonic and Autechre. Check out the clip above, featuring the track “Transport 1” from the excellent Momentform Accumulations album.
Automatisme also recently self-released a new EP E.T.I. Espace, Transit Et Individu (Reshape & Restoration) and is currently finishing up a collaborative album with Erinome (Neologist Productions) while also putting final touches on his next full-length for Constellation due in Fall 2018.

Acclaim for Momentform Accumulations:

“An incredible and unrelenting album experience.” – Echoes And Dust
“There’s a real sense of disorientation through awkward machine polyrhythms and softly grinding sampled abrasions. Amongst the complex patter of percussion are some brighter, dronier elements like the chill chord walls on ‘Simultaneite 3’ and the more looming murk on ‘Simultaneite 1’. Brilliant.” – Norman Records
“An enthralling electronic album.” – Musikansich
