The most recent kinetic revelry of the Montreal quartet Avec le soleil has dropped today! Check out the official release page for full album information or visit our Soundcloud page for the full album, streaming until Monday 23 January.

“Intense grooves of Afro-prog psych: 10 tracks, three ‘movements’, a rump-shaking whole.”

“This isn’t your parents’ Krautrock — meaning it’s not a respectful homage to the genre bearing all the benchmarks of a revivalist act. It’s an irreverent reinvention…the album is hermetic at first, but highly rewarding after a few listens. Avec le soleil’s music could compare to a tropical forest: There’s a lot of stuff there, and when the ecosystem works as well as it does on Pas pire pop, it’s worth taking the time to get lost in its dense flora of sounds.

“Avec Le Soleil Sortant De Sa Bouche are back and as brilliant as ever. Following up on their last record (one of our favourites of 2014) will be tough but this track [‘Alizé et Margaret D…’] which sounds like David Byrne fronting Magma in Bamako, suggests they might just do it. Très bien!”
