Constellation

Constellation is a record label founded in 1997 and based in Montréal, Canada. The label has released over 50 albums, most on CD and LP formats, with an emphasis on local artists, artisanal production techniques, independent networks of distribution, and most of all, music made by true iconoclasts yielding sounds that defy easy categorization.

Along with such local and regional artists as Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Do Make Say Think, Thee Silver Mt. Zion, Hangedup, Hrsta, Sandro Perri and Eric Chenaux, the label has also recently worked with a number of artists based outside Canada, including Vic Chesnutt, Carla Bozulich, The Dead Science and Tindersticks.

Both Vic Chesnutt and Carla Bozulich forged a relationship with Constellation after having made albums in Montral at the Hotel2Tango, a recording studio founded and developed by musicians on the label.

This is the label's first DVD release.
