“With a voice equally suited to opening petals and opening wounds, Foon sings to the earth like a mother to a newborn, beaming with hope while gripped with fear. But she also offers an alternate form of resistance: transformation.” – NPR

The second track to be released from the forthcoming Saltland album, A Common Truth, channels our affective landscape in light of the current climate and environmental crises through Rebecca Foon’s wide palette of cello sounds. “Light Of Mercy” which premiered on The Quietus today, is a sombre, “gorgeous, cinematic” work featuring backing vocals by Ian Ilavsky. Take a listen.
