ERIC CHENAUX MAKES SPECIAL APPEARANCES IN MONTREAL AND TORONTO IN AUGUST
It has been three years since inimitable balladier Eric Chenaux has graced our North American stages. Happily for those of us in Eastern Canada, he’ll be alighting in Montreal and Toronto for a spatter of intimate performances in remarkable company, over a year and a half after the release of Skullsplitter, a “triumph of post-modern songwriting”. It is time indeed to reunite with Eric’s idiosyncratic and affective songcraft.
Joining Eric at Casa Del Popolo in Montreal on August 8 will be Annie Lewandowski in solo performance as Powerdove, whose compositions “convey the impression of a music oscillating between gentle madness and mutant avant-garde”. Then on August 13 at Toronto’s The Burdock, Eric shares the bill with longtime creative companion Ryan Driver, the Queen City’s tender maverick. (FB event for MTL here & TO here.)
The end of the summer will see Eric appearing alongside preternatural folk iconoclast from Newcastle, Richard Dawson, in Copenhagen for the Fanø Free Folk Festival on what promises to be a soulmending evening.
