T. Gowdy’s new album Therapy With Colour will be available in fine independent record stores on 21 August, and as its street date approaches we wanted to give a proper introduction to the producer and sound artist behind this collection of deeply satisfying, forward-thinking instrumental electronic tracks.

“It is one of my favourite albums ever produced. I feel like it’s beyond what music can be considered to be. I am humbled by Matthew Patton’s level of restraint in these compositions. I would take this album to a desert island.”
“When I saw JIMH play Berlin in 2016 I had an out of body experience. I knew logically that I was watching a performance of something but wasn’t able to articulate what this visceral experience was.
Hearing this music four years later, it is still transcending.”
“Everything is just going sideways on this record and it feels like fresh air, but like you’re breathing lab-synthesized oxygen. The funny thing is that you catch glimpses of a genre but it really evades well. Always skirting the mind’s gaze, a new pattern emerges on every listen.”
“Colin Stetson is grasping my soul with both hands and asking me to acknowledge the spirits he has summoned. Shamanic? Yes. And not once does his hyper-technical style of circular breathing through the saxophone shroud my belief that his message comes from the purest place.”
“This vision is so singular that its therapeutic to surrender, put down your things and nod. I see this collection as crooked hymns tied together by murky pedal tones. It’s rebirth and resistance holding hands.”
