Light Conductor is the ambient psych-electronic moniker of Jace Lasek (The Besnard Lakes) and Stephen Ramsay (Young Galaxy), with regular collaborator and touring member Olga Goreas (also of The Besnard Lakes). Built on a foundation of restored vintage synths and analogue electronic gear, Light Conductor records longform slowburn jams and then shapes them in studio, where Ramsay and Lasek don their seasoned producer hats to apply maximalist sound design to minimalist tracks, drenched in pink and brown noise, queasy modulation, sparse beats, and languorous melodic lines. Evoking a humid dawn on a gas giant, their alien drone anthems combine the numinous transcendentalism of Spiritualized and Moebius with the eroded grit of William Basinski.
