"Pulsating and highly unpredictable, Sequence Two is an other-worldly delight." - Dominionated
"The flow is seamless, not focusing on the consciousness of individual songs, but the overall chimerical atmosphere of the album. Simply, Sequence Two feels like one song created for an unwritten cinematic sci-fi expedition in the same vein as Interstellar, or something more arcane like Beyond the Black Rainbow." - PAN M 360
"This music is the dreamlike opalescent nebula of a duo whose respective psych/pop/electro/rock bands are known for stridently declarative, chiselled, heavy sonic statements. The through line is an emotive devotional sensibility, seasoned by a naturalistic studio mastery, and love for the analog that enmeshes the electronic." - Fluid
"This is a brave and original interpretation of sound design." - Sun-13
“An epic, shimmeringly radiant kosmische excursion... "Splitting Light" builds from an atmospheric, Tangs-like sequence into a full-on psych explosion that feels like hurtling through a far-off galaxy, watching a sunrise on another planet... Fabulous.” - Electronic Sound
“A second dose of heavyweight analogue synth nirvana.” - UNCUT
“The real deal...swirling, twinkling, looping synchronicity, ever-building, somewhere between Philip Glass and late period Spacemen 3, is euphorically effective....lovely, glittering and pulsing.” - The Arts Desk
“There’s an exuberant, ecstatic buzz to Light Conductor’s spacey synth portraits... Sequence Two is an album that’s bursting with light and inspiration.” - Was Ist Das
The second album of prismatic slow-burn analog synth instrumentals by the duo of Jace Lasek (The Besnard Lakes) and Stephen Ramsay (Young Galaxy). Expanding on the hypnaogogic ambience of their warm and uncluttered 2019 debut, Lasek and Ramsay add subtle but scintillating structure and electricity to these four new longform tracks. The songs remain predominantly beatless, but burble and vibrate with more ornate, intentional pulses, arpeggiators and control voltages. Light Conductor’s analog palette of gently fuzzed-out chordal drone, mesmeric ostinato, sweeping filters and drifting levitational melody continues to colour the glowing atmosphere of this enveloping space/trance music: like sunrise on another planet, with a profoundly satisfying dimension of heightened ceremony and design. This music is the opalescent deepspace nebula of a duo whose respective psych/pop/electro/rock parent bands are known for more declaratively epic, chiselled, heavy sonic statements. The through-line is an emotive devotional sensibility, seasoned by a naturalistic studio mastery, and a love for the analog that enmeshes the electronic. Fans of Tangerine Dream, Roedelius, Laurie Spiegel and Laaraji should feel right at home.
